Designed for versatile installation in a mechanical closet, the Vert-I-Pak system conditions multiple rooms with minimal noise and maximum comfort. Since the system installs in a closet on an outside wall, tenants and guests enjoy quieter living spaces with full in-room temperature control and unobstructed windows. To further reduce sound, consider insulating the closet. Enhanced quiet operation is supported by a wall plenum with a gasket and extra-thick rubber grommets to reduce vibration noise.
The Friedrich VHA12K models operate on 208/230 volts, providing 11,000 BTUs of cooling and 10,400 BTUs of heating from the heat pump. All models meet new AHRI standards, with SEER2, EER2, and HSPF2 ratings for efficiency. The new Friedrich VHA12K**RTQ models feature 10.6 EER2, 11.9 SEER2, and 6.3 HSPF2 ratings. Equipped with a base pan heater, the Friedrich RTQ Series is optimized for low-ambient operation, allowing heat pump function down to 17°F before the electric backup heater engages.
Installation Flexibility with the Friedrich VTAC
The redesigned Friedrich VTAC requires a 10" rectangular duct transition and a field-sourced 2x4 platform for support. This vertical packaged system offers installation options that improve efficiency and ease:

- Simple Installation: Pre-wired, pre-charged, and pre-piped for quick setup—only electrical hookup required.

- Perfect for Extended-Stay Applications: Ideal for hotels, assisted living, and student housing, with wired and wireless energy management system compatibility.
The Vert-I-Pak offers choices in electric backup heater sizes. For example, the VHA12K34RTQ includes a 3.4 kW electric heater requiring a 20 Amp circuit, while other models offer 2.5 kW (15 Amp circuit) and 5.0 kW (30 Amp circuit) options:
