Product Overview
New, Quiet, Re-designed, and Re-imagined
The PTH123J35AXXX is designed for both residential and commercial use with 208/230-volt electricity. This unit offers 11,600/12,000 BTUs of cooling power, a 10,800/11,000 BTU heat pump, and a 3.5 kW electric heater, providing approximately 9,900/12,000 BTUs of electric backup heat. It also includes a 20-amp power cord.
Connectivity and Environmental Impact
The new series of Amana PTACs are equipped with RF and Bluetooth connectivity but require a wall thermostat to operate. The Amana PTH123J35AXXX PTAC features an EER of 11.5 and can cool spaces of about 300 - 525 sq. ft. The "J" Series units in the Amana line use R32 refrigerant, which is up to 12% more efficient than R410A, resulting in a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP). The lower the GWP, the better it is for the environment. The "K" Series is also available and offers R410A refrigerant (not for sale in California and Washington).
Quieter Operation and Improved Design
Consistent with Amana's legacy, these units are quieter than previous versions. The new design reduces operating noise from entering rooms and features an STC (Sound Transmission Class) of 29. With less outside noise transferred into the room, you and your guests can enjoy quieter days and nights. Amana PTAC units are built to last and are made in the United States.
The Quiet White color, shallow front, and quiet operation of the Amana PTAC will complement any room without being intrusive. These units are installed through the wall, and the front panel can be secured to the chassis with a concealed screw to prevent unauthorized tampering.
Sleek, User-Friendly Appearance
The new design eliminates the user-operated control panel, giving it a sleeker appearance. This re-imagined design requires a wall thermostat for operation and can be used with a wired or wireless wall thermostat. Amana PTACs now come with integrated Bluetooth and RF operation, as well as Eden Energy Management System connectivity, allowing for easier troubleshooting, diagnostics, and configuration.
Advanced Features for Maximum Efficiency
Amana PTACs retain all the standard and advanced features they're known for. The advanced condensate dispersion system throws excess condensation onto the outdoor coil for fast evaporation, maximizing cooling efficiency with minimal condensate run-off. The built-in 30-second fan-off delay ensures more efficient cooling, using the unit's fan to disperse conditioned air after the compressor stops.
Room Freeze Protection and Temperature Control
With Room Freeze Protection, the unit senses temperatures of 40°F or below, activating the fan and electric resistance heat to prevent freezing. Amana designed these PTACs with multi-unit installations in mind. The units can be set up to limit maximum and minimum temperatures, giving you control over temperature while allowing guests to adjust settings as desired. This feature helps prevent overheating or overcooling, saving energy costs.
Wireless Control and Energy Savings
With the addition of a wireless adapter, the unit can be connected to a wireless thermostat and a room occupancy sensor, enabling automatic setback rules when no motion is detected. The RF compatibility and DigiSmart controller (additional items required, sold separately) allow for full control of all Amana PTAC units. This system provides site-wide configuration, diagnostics, a front desk system interface, and email reporting—all through an easy-to-use web interface. You can save up to 35% on energy usage with the DigiSmart system.
Easy Maintenance and Installation Requirements
The front-access filters can be cleaned easily to keep the air fresh. Amana tests all units for quality, including run and leak tests at the factory.
For new installations, a sleeve and rear grille are required (not included). The unit fits a standard PTAC sleeve size (WxHxD): 42" x 16 1/16" x 14 1/8". The cut-out dimensions for this unit are 42-1/4"w x 16-1/4"h.
All specifications are subject to change. This model meets the requirements for use in California and Washington.
