Product Overview
Is it time to replace your hot water heater? A tell-tale sign is water leaking from the tank! Short of that, if your water is dirty or rusty looking, has a metallic taste or smell or you are just experiencing less and less hot water, it may be time. Rusty or dirty looking water could be a sign that there is corrosion inside the tank. Of course, these are signs of a potential issue, but if your hot water heater is older than 10 - 15 years, it may also be time to think about it.
American Water Heaters ProLine XE water heaters are engineered for maximum efficiency and deliver a greater uniform energy factor (UEF). They include a LimeFighter dip tube. A dip tube is an internal tube attached to the cold water inlet. Typically, the tube extends down to the bottom of the water heater, expelling the cold water near the burner where it is heated. The dip tube reduces lime and sediment build-up while maximizing your hot water output. Its 2" thick foam insulation reduces heat loss for greater energy efficiency.
The PVG62-50S40-NVS ProLine XE is a commercial-grade, residential 50 gallon hot water power vent heater. It is considered a short tank as it stands 60-1/8" tall to the top of the blower outlet (50-3/4" to the top of the heater). This hot water heater has a first hour rating of 79 gallons. Assuming you are starting with a fully heated tank, it can deliver 79 gallons of hot water in an hour. A 50 gallon water heater is sufficiently sized for a household of 3 - 4 people with regular demand.
Standard features of the American Water Heater Proline XE Series include:
- Flex Design - The blower offers a 3 position rotatable outlet
- Combined Horizontal and Vertical Venting - Allows for up to 180 equivalent feet with 4" diameter venting (PVC, ABS, CPVC and polypropylene)
- Hot Surface Ignitor - reduces energy consumption versus a standing pilot
- LimeFighter Dip Tube - Reduces lime and sediment build-up
- Enhanced-Flow Brass Drain Valve
- Blue Diamond Glass Coated lining for corrosion resistance inside the tank
- 150 PSI hydrostatic working pressure
- 6 year limited tank and 6 year parts warranty for residential applications
Flexible venting information is provided for 2", 3" or 4" venting with PVC, CPVC or ABS vent pipe.
