The AquaMotion Recirculation Systems are the perfect retrofit solution for hot water quickly. As many homeowners know, you can turn on the faucet and wait for the water to heat up for a very long time - sometimes more than 2 or 3 minutes. Typically, with tankless hot water heaters, the wait time may not be as long but no matter how long, that waiting time is literally washing away gallons of wasted, good, clean water not to mention energy. Simply put, hot water recirculation saves cooled water from being dumped down the drain while waiting for hot water. Hot water cools once you turn off your water. Lukewarm water in the hot pipe is bypassed into the cold supply line. A pump, sensor, switch and bypass valve provide automatic operation so that there is always hot water at the sink.

The AquaMotion AMH1K-RODRN kit is an ON-DEMAND Hot Water Circulator for use with single pipe, tankless hot water heaters without a built-in pump. For the AMH1K-RODRN, your tankless heater should not include a dedicated return line and does not require power or room under any sink, but it does require power at the tank. It includes an AMR-SFVL1 high speed circulator, which gives you a single speed with check valve and line cord. This circulator does not include a timer - it is an ON DEMAND high speed circulator. It does include AquaMotion AMK-WB, which is an On-Demand Wireless Control Kit. When hot water is called for with an On-Demand AMK-WB device, the circulator forces the cooled water in the hot water line into the cold water supply line, at the fixture where the under sink valve is installed, which returns the water to the tankless hot water heater. As hotter water reaches the valve under the fixture the valve closes until a 95⁰F temperature is reached at which point the valve automatically adjusts to maintain this temperature as long as the circulator is operating. The AMK-WB receiver that the circulator is plugged into comes factory set to run the circulator for 5 min. The receiver can be reprogramed (see On-Demand Operating Instructions) for longer run times if desired. When the circulator is activated by the AMK-WB device hot water from your tankless heater will being to flow to the fixture. Due to varying pipe lengths, pipe diameters and pipe types in homes, the time required for hot water to reach the fixture will vary from home to home. The hot water will reach the sink in about the same amount of time as running hot water at the fixture but there is no wasted water.

Also included is an AquaMotion ODR valve (for under sink installation). The ODR installs at the fixture furthest from the tankless hot water heater and acts in conjunction with a circulator to supply hot water with a built-in timer. The ODR valve mounts below the fixture between hot and cold supply lines. When hot water is called for, the circulator forces the cooled hot water in the hot water line into the cold supply line which returns it to the hot water heater. As hotter water reaches the ODR Valve it closes until a 95°F temperature is reached at which point the valve automatically adjusts to maintain this temperature.

An AMK-ODR bypass valve kit is a perfect solution if the home has plumbing that tees off the main line and goes to other fixtures. The valve is normally installed at the faucet that is furthest away from the hot water tankless heater. If there are separate hot water branches in the residence, additional valves may be required.
