Product Overview
The AquaMotion AquaShield AMH2K-7X is designed to deliver hot water quickly at all points of use between your installed OUTDOOR hot water tank and the dedicated return line. This recirculator installs with a simple 3/4" union connection. The built-in pump timer gives the homeowner the ability to have the system operate at the times when hot water is needed. The Aquastat is a temperature sensor that will tell the pump to run when the water at the fixture starts to drop below 85°F. It will run until it reaches 105°F and then it will shut off. Built-in timers are preferred over ON-DEMAND because you would not need to manually activate your pump.
The circulator comes with both a built-in timer and a built-in Aquastat to minimize heat loss from the hot supply and hot water return lines. A built-in check valve stops hot water from flowing to the point of use via the return line. A standard grounded 115V cord and plug allows for standard household electricity without any re-wiring. The circulator is also freeze protected. Please keep in mind that outdoor tankless heaters are really only viable in the southern tier of the US. Freeze protection starts the circulator to the normal operation when the temperature raises. The circulator is intended to be installed outdoors against a structure with the control box cover facing up. Tabs are included on both the control box cover and base that allow the box cover to be secured against rain, wind and tampering. Filters protect the control from insects & bugs.
The AMH2K-7X is for use with a tankless hot water heater with a dedicated return line that is installed OUTDOOR. This is a 3-pipe system that includes a hot water line, a cold water line, and a dedicated return. This system creates a loop from the water heater to the faucet and back again. The unused hot water is drawn back through this loop by the pump, so when you turn on your hot water faucets, you get hot water quickly. Water is not left in the pipes to get cold, and you waste less water because you don’t have to wait.
Water savings can be as great as 12,000 – 15,000 gallons per year with 4-5 taps in a home. As many homeowners know, you can turn on the faucet and wait for the water to heat up for a very long time - sometimes more than 2 or 3 minutes. That waiting time is wasting energy and countless gallons of water!
All of the moving parts of the AquaMotion AMH2K-7 recirculator are housed in a "Green Eco Cartridge Design". It is the only field serviceable and replaceable cartridge available. With this design, simply remove the rotor assembly, flush the cartridge with water and reinstall it. Simple, cost effective, patented technology!
Requirements for using the AMH2K-7X include a min./max. water pressure of 2 PSI / 125 PSI with a maximum ambient water temperature of 104°F. Good for up to 100 feet of pipe length. The AMH2K-7X is built for outdoor use. It is in an outdoor enclosure with a clear cover to allow for timer visibility. It includes an anti-tampering locking device and is rain, sprinkler and insect resistant! Everything you need is included:
