Friedrich FPHW123D 12,000 BTU single zone mini split system includes both the FAHFW12A3D wall unit and the FPHSR12A3D outdoor compressor. Inverter Technology is only the beginning of the standard money-saving features included with Friedrich Floating Air Pro Series ductless mini split systems. This technology offers the consumer the ability to run their system much more efficiently, and reduce energy costs all while cooling the space and reaching the desired set temperature more quickly. To help keep the room at a comfortable level, longer, the compressor runs at a lower speed instead of shutting off completely. This helps the system to maintain the set temperature, alleviating the need for the system to start up again from a completely shut down state.

One of the newest features of the Floating Air Pro Series is the use of the refrigerant R454B. As the US moves away from R410A refrigerant, manufacturers are using alternative replacement refrigerants. R454B is the replacement refrigerant being used in Friedrich's line of Floating Air Pro Series mini split systems. R454B features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 467. The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. Also featured is FastPro Technology, making installation and maintenance a much easier, less time consuming task. FastPro gives your HVAC technician easy access to the entire indoor unit, including piping, wire terminal, the fan and fan components. The front panel of your wall unit can be propped open with sliding bolts to keep the cover up and out of the way. If more room is needed to work, there is a slide bar than can be pushed out for a wider space. This makes installation of the refrigerant lines and wiring a much more manageable, less time consuming task for your HVAC technician. Interior parts such as the return air filters and the entire blower wheel assembly are easily removed for cleaning or servicing (away from your room of installation) and re-installed quickly. Servicing should always be left for the HVAC Technicians. FastPro also gives the technician easy access to the coils for maintenance and cleaning.

The Energy Star FPHW123D mini split is a 208/230 Volt, cooling with heat pump system. It features high efficiency ratings including a 23.0 SEER2 and a 12.25 EER2. This system not only meets the standard, rigid criteria needed to receive an Energy Star Rating, additionally, the FPHW123D system also meets the more specific, stricter standards for heating capacity and qualifies as Cold Climate Energy Star Rated. The built-in low ambient cooling capabilities will cool your space when outside temperatures are as low as 5°F. If you are need to cool a server room or other equipment year round, this unit's low ambient cooling features make it a great choice. The 12,000 BTU heat pump will work hard to keep you warm. The integrated drain pan will turn on when the temperature drops below 28°F and turns off when the temperature increases to 30°F. The temperature is judged by the ODU Temperature sensor signal. As expected, the rated heating capacity does reduce as the temperatures fall. This system has a rated heating capacity of 10,800 BTUs at 17°F and a maximum heating capacity of 11,000 BTUs at 5°F! But with its low ambient heating capacity, maximum capacity is 6,100 BTUs with temperatures down to -13°F.

Friedrich's Pro Series Floating Air wall units are Smart Home Ready with built-in WiFi and access to Friedrich ComfortPro App for wireless control as well as Google Assistant and Alexa voice commands. With the Friedrich ComfortPro App you can also create customizable, 7-day schedules for your total comfort. The wall unit offers optimized air flow with 4-way air swing that send the conditioned air to all corners of your space. The 12,000 BTUs will cool a room that is about 600 sq. ft. Factors such as windows, doors, computers and ceiling height must be factored in when calculating the BTUs you need for your specific installation requirements.

In contrast to central air conditioning, which cools your entire house whenever the system turns on, a mini split cools only the space you want cooled, when you want it cooled! When you install a mini split system, you get all the benefits of individualized room comfort control without losing your view or having to remove and store your unit in the off season. Installation of a mini split system is permanent and non-obtrusive. Installing a Friedrich Mini Split is a relatively easy undertaking. Mini split systems do not require duct work and your system should be up and running in a few hours*.

The outdoor unit includes DiamonBlue Advanced Corrosion Protection to protect the outdoor coil from harsh environments as well as rust and corrosion. Each Friedrich mini split is pre-charged with R454B refrigerant for 25 feet of line. Additionally, the line sets can be as long as 66 feet between the compressor and the indoor unit with a 49 foot height difference. Line sets are sold separately.

The Friedrich Floating Air Series ductless mini split system comes with a 7 year (extended to 10 with product registration) parts and 10 year compressor Manufacturer's warranty. The option of adding a 5 year labor warranty to your coverage is also available (separately) at the time of purchase.
