The Friedrich Floating Air Wall Units feature FastPro Technology making installation and maintenance a much easier, less time consuming task. FastPro gives your HVAC technician easy access to the entire indoor unit, including piping, wire terminal, the fan and fan components. The front panel of your wall unit can be propped open with sliding bolts to keep the cover up and out of the way. If more room is needed to work, there is a slide bar than can be pushed out for a wider space. This makes installation of the refrigerant lines and wiring a much more manageable, less time consuming task for your HVAC technician. Interior parts such as the return air filters and the entire blower wheel assembly are easily removed for cleaning or servicing (away from your room of installation) and re-installed quickly. Servicing should always be left for the HVAC Technicians. FastPro also gives the technician easy access to the coils for maintenance and cleaning. 

The outdoor units for the Select Series use R32 Refrigerant. One of the newest features of the Floating Air Select Series is the use of the refrigerant R32. As the US moves away from R410A refrigerant, manufacturers are using alternative replacement refrigerants. R32 is the replacement refrigerant being used in Friedrich's line of Floating Air Select Series mini split systems. R32 features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675. The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. Below is a comparison chart of GWPs now being used by manufacturers versus R410A which is being phased out.

The FSHW363D mini split is a 230 Volt, 34,600 BTU cooling with heat pump system. Although it features high efficiency ratings including a 20.0 SEER2 rating and 9.45 EER2 rating, it is not Energy Star. The built-in low ambient cooling capabilities will cool your space when outside temperatures are as low as 5°F. The 35,000 BTU heat pump will work hard to keep you warm, offering heat operation when outdoor temperatures fall as low as -5°F.  As expected the rated heating capacity does reduce as the temperatures fall. This system will heat with rated heating capacity of 19,200 BTUs when it is as cold as 17°F outside. It also boasts has a max. heating capacity of 20,000 BTUs at 5°F.  It is a great option for secondary heat. If you are need to cool a server room or other equipment year round, this unit's low ambient cooling features make it a great choice.

Friedrich's Select Series Floating Air wall units are Smart Home Ready with built-in WiFi and access to Friedrich ComfortPro App for wireless control as well as Google Assistant and Alexa voice commands. With the Friedrich ComfortPro App you can also create customizable, 7-day schedules for your total comfort. The system's 34,600 BTUs will cool a room that is about 2000 sq. ft. Factors such as windows, doors, computers and ceiling height must be factored in when calculating the BTUs you need for your specific installation requirements.

In contrast to central air conditioning, which cools your entire house whenever the system turns on, a mini split cools only the space you want cooled, when you want it cooled! Installation of a mini split system is permanent and non-obtrusive. Installing a Friedrich Mini Split is a relatively easy undertaking. The outdoor unit is pre-charged with R32 refrigerant for 25 feet of line. Additionally, the line sets can be as long as 98 feet between the compressor and the indoor unit with a 49 foot height difference. Line sets are sold separately.

The Friedrich Floating Air Select Series ductless mini split system comes with a 7 year (extended to 10 with product registration) parts and 10 year compressor Manufacturer's warranty. The option of adding a 5 year labor warranty to your coverage is also available (separately) at the time of purchase.
