Friedrich PVH12K3FC 12000 BTU Class FreshAire Series with Inverter Technology PTAC Air Conditioner with Heat Pump - 20 Amp - 230 Volt - R32 Refrigerant

Friedrich FreshAire Series PTAC units are the most advanced PTAC units. The FreshAire line features a fully integrated make-up air system while still offering the quiet sound levels and efficiency levels you have come to expect from Friedrich. They can be used in both commercial and residential applications. This unit is backed with the reliability you count on from a company like Friedrich, experts in room air conditioning. The PVH12K3FC uses R32 refrigerant with low Global Warming Potential (GWP)! R32 refrigerant is more efficient than R410A which results in the lower GWP.

This PVH12K3FC is a 12,000 BTU cooling PTAC (6,100/15,500 BTUs {min./max.}) with 11,500 BTUs reverse cycle heat pump (6,000/14,000 BTUs {min./max.}) as well as back-up electric resistive heat. Additionally, it boasts an EER of 11.5, making it an efficient system to cool your smaller areas. It uses 208 / 230V electricity and has a 2 speed fan plus auto for better circulation. Friedrich PVH12K3FC PTACs include a 20 Amp power cord which provides 3.5 kW of electric heat. A 15 Amp cord (PXPCFA23015), providing 2.5 kW of electric heat and a 30 Amp cord (PXPCFA23030), providing 5.0 kW of electric heat are also available (sold separately). 

The FreshAire Series also features Inverter Technology. Use of Inverter Technology helps the compressor to achieve expanded heating and cooling capabilities, higher SEER and HSPF ratings versus standard PTAC compressors, making it more efficient to run overall. Inverter technology uses variable capacity to reach the set point quickly and efficiently and then runs at a reduced capacity to maintain the temperature versus standard compressors which work at a fixed capacity reaching the set point more slowly and then shutting down until the next cycle. Additionally, your guests will benefit from improved dehumidification and reduced temperature swings in their room. The heat pump mode will provide instant heat, which quickly heats the room to the desired temperature for increased comfort for you and your guests. 

The FreshAire System uses make-up air which brings in additional outside air directly into the room. This make-up/fresh air passes through a MERV 8 filter and then mixes with return air from the room. It is then conditioned (heated or cooled) with the return air before it is re-introduced into your space. The Friedrich FreshAire PTACs are the only PTACs that meet ASHRAE 62.1-2013 requirements delivering up to 52 CFM of conditioned, MERV 8 filtered make-up air.

The digital touch pad is easy to use and clearly labeled. Additionally, several thermostats are available for use with the FreshAire Series. There are several preferred remotes available for the Fresh Aire Series. These include the PFAXWC1, VRPXEMRT2, EMWRT2, PFAXWC1. The unit includes an RS-485 communication plug which enables a better balanced communication signal which allows the FreshAire PTAC to communicate fully with the VRPXEMRT 12V controller allowing full variable control of the inverter compressor. It also allows for access to Friedrich's feature rich energy management suite of options including room occupancy. Additionally, Friedrich's standard thermostats are compatible but the FreshAire unit will not operate to its fullest abilities. The standard thermostats include the RT7 (wired, non-programmable), the RT7P (wired, programmable) and the WRT2 (wireless, programmable). 

Friedrich FreshAire Series PTACs provide reliable performance at an entry level price point while still maintaining Friedrich quality and durable construction. The FreshAire Series features aluminum end plates and DiamonBlue Advanced Corrosion protection for a longer life in coastal area where the environment is harsher due to the salt water. Another feature includes an automatic sampling of the room temperature every nine minutes to ensure that the desired conditions are maintained. The fresh air damper brings fresh outdoor air inside when desired. Additionally, the Select Series has an internal diagnostic program to alert you to component failures or other operating issues.

To back it all up, the Friedrich FreshAire Series of PTACs is backed by a 2 year parts and labor warranty with a limited warranty on the sealed refrigeration system for the third through fifth year (from date of installation).

The standard industry size of 42" allows this unit to fit most standard sleeves for easy installation of replacement units.

New installations require a sleeve and a rear grille. These items are not included with the air conditioner. Fits a standard PTAC Sleeve Size (WxHxD): 42" x 16 1/16" x 14 1/8". The cut-out dimensions for this unit are 42-1/4"w x 16-1/4"h.
