Hazardgard Series air conditioners are specifically designed for use in areas where specific volatile flammable liquids or gases are handled or used within enclosed containers or systems. The SH24N30AT 23,500 BTU Hazardgard Series Air Conditioner is a T4 Temperature Classified unit. It is imperative that you know the auto-ignition temperature (AIT) of the gasses you are working with. The AIT is the temperature at with the mixture of air and gas will spontaneously ignite or combust with no other resource or interference. The T-Class determines the maximum temperature of the exposed surfaces of your electrical equipment - including air conditioners! The Hazardgard AT Series is designed such that the surface temperature will not rise above 135°C/275°F and therefore meets the standards of a T4 class unit. It is designed to work in areas where the maximum temperature of the surface area of the unit is lower than the AIT of the gasses you are working with. The Hazardgard T4 Series can be used in areas with gasses such as Propane, with an AIT of 470°C, or Acetone (AIT 540°C) but not in an area with Carbon Disulphide (AIT of 102°C) for example.
The Hazardgard T4 Series also operates at low ambient conditions without freezing at outdoor ambient temperatures as low as 7° C / 45°F. Additionally, it tolerates higher outdoor temperatures up to 55°C / 130°F. The SH24N30AT is ATEX and IECEx Certified

Direct wire connection: Utilizes direct-wired, 30-amp circuit with time-delay fuse that will tolerate surge current without tripping the breaker. The SH24N30AT requires a 230 Volt 60 Hz circuit.
Hermetically sealed reciprocating compressor: The compressor motor is cooled during the refrigeration cycle, which allows the unit to tolerate higher outdoor temperatures.
Heavy gauge steel: 22 gauge steel, G60 steel cabinet for corrosion protection is used in order to create a more robust air conditioner cabinet that will withstand years of hard use.
Commercial Grade Enclosed fan motor: Larger, commercial grade fan motor with hermetically sealed overload for arc-free operation. Totally enclosed to assure efficient operation under adverse electrical conditions.
