Product Overview
GE introduces the newest line of PTAC units featuring R454B Refrigerant - currently the lowest viable low GWP refrigerant available.
For your convenience, we are including a required power cord of your choice with this unit. Choose either a standard power cord (included) or a hardwire kit ($20), each available in 15 amp, 20 amp or 30 amp.
With their new line of Zoneline PTAC units, GE has made significant improvements to their long-trusted product, both inside and out. Zoneline PTACs feature the same case dimensions as earlier models, as well as competitor's models, but with a shallower front for more usable space and overall sleeker appearance. Zoneline PTACs feature the same case dimensions as other PTAC models. The new line comes in a White Grey color and features an easy to use control panel. Every new GE Zoneline (with the exception of Make Up Air - MUA units) features Corrosion Protection, making them a viable installation for coastal areas.
GE Zoneline PTACs are ahead of their competitors by introducing the use of R454B refrigerant. R454B features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 467 - the most environmentally friendly refrigerant available. The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. Below is a comparison chart of GWPs now being used by manufacturers versus R410A which is being phased out.
On the inside, special Premium Guard coatings provide protection against corrosion, to keep every part running better and longer. The new line is good for any environment, even typically more challenging environments such as oceanfront properties. All Zoneline units, except the make-up air units include corrosion protection and can be sold in coastal environments. A redesigned internal structure makes the servicing process easier and faster than ever before, providing a service diagnostics report to help technicians identify problems and a ‘quick connect’ feature that allows thermostat, central desk control, and external fan set-up in just seconds.
These improvements also guarantee better operation, overall, including the addition of two DC fan motors, which works to reduce noise by dialing in the exact airflow needed for each heating and cooling function. In fact, with a sound transmission class of 29, GE’s Zoneline units are the quietest PTACs on the market at reducing outside noise when compared to leading competitors. A large cross-flow barrier optimizes airflow for a low, balanced sound that is hardly noticeable, while a heavy-duty, baked-on mastic barrier covers the back of the unit for superior sound insulation. A weather barrier system seal around the perimeter of the unit keeps all noise and dirt outside, ensuring a better and more comfortable environment while the PTAC is in use.
The GE Zoneline PTAC units feature electric heat as well. On colder days this will provide some heat without turning on your entire heating system. The electric heat is power cord dependent. 15, 20 and 30 Amp cords are available for this unit. At Total Home Supply, we include your choice of power cord with your purchase. Use of the direct connect power supply requires RAK4002D Junction Box (sold separately).
Every unit is programmed to balance comfort with efficient operation, and a reverse cycle defrost feature increases this efficiency by allowing the unit to run in heat pump mode longer. Specially designed heat & freeze sentinels work to prevent damage caused by overheating or freezing, prolonging the life of the unit and adding to even more energy savings in the long run.
The GE PTAC Zoneline units can be operated with a remote wall thermostat. This operation does require a Thermostat Control Kit (RAKTK8PA1, sold separately).
This item replaces all GE AZ45E15 units. The AZES15DCXXA is a 14,800 BTU PTAC and your choice of electric cord amperage (electric heat is power cord dependent). It is a fixed speed unit with hi or low settings and includes Corrosion Protection.
