Hotpoint PTAC units (a GE brand) are easy to install, simply remove the old and slide in the new! The AHES12D3XXA Hotpoint PTAC units comes with a 20 amp, 208/230 volt power cord included. Like all PTAC units, new installations require a grille and wall sleeve. However, if you are replacing a PTAC unit, your current grille and sleeve may be fine. Hotpoint has a long history as an industry leader in the appliance and comfort control industries.
R32 is the replacement refrigerant being used in Hotpoint's PTAC line. R32 features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675. The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. Below is a comparison chart of GWPs now being used by manufacturers versus R410A which is being phased out.
As an owner/operator, you have temperature limiting options that allow you to select one of four temperature ranges for total comfort and peak efficiency. The control panel features soft touch pads to easily select the temperature, mode and fan speed. The coverless panel features an Auto Dimming Display and has LED Indicator lights to display mode and fan speeds as well as an LCD display for temperature. The unit can display temperature in either °F or °C.
A nine-point diagnostic code system helps to easily identify service needs on your unit. Additionally, in the event of a power failure, the Auto Power Recovery feature on Hotpoint PTAC units will automatically restart your unit in the mode it was in when power was lost. Hotpoint PTAC units also offer Freeze and Frost Protection to help keep your unit in top top condition. A sensor on the indoor coil monitors the coil temperature and turns the compressor off until the coils warms up. The fan will continue running when this occurs. The units also offer Constant Fan for the option of running the indoor fan continuously even if the unit is in Off Mode.
Other standard features for the Hotpoint PTAC units include:

The AHES12D3XXA is a cooling unit with electric back-up heat. It has a cooling capacity of 12,200 BTUs and features and 10.5 EER rating. The 20 amp power cord will deliver 3.5 kW of electric back-up heat.
This model meets the requirements for use in California and Washington.
New installations require a sleeve and a rear grille. These items are not included with the air conditioner. Fits a standard PTAC Sleeve Size (WxHxD): 42" x 16 1/16" x 14 1/8". The cut-out dimensions for this unit are 42-1/4"w x 16-1/4"h.
