The Meridian Platinum is a direct-vent fireplace. Direct vent fireplaces are a sealed fireplace system and can be installed on an outside wall with top or rear venting. Because you have the option of installing this direct vent fireplace with top venting, it can be installed on an interior wall, providing all installation requirements are met and the gas outlet is accessible for your installation. Direct Vent gas fireplaces remove 100% of combustion exhaust and fumes to the outside of the home. These sealed fireplaces provide optimal heat, conserve energy and ensure clean, safe indoor air quality. A direct vent gas fireplace is a clean alternative to a wood burning fireplace. No wood to haul, no mess to deal with.
With the included RC400 remote, you have access to all the controls as needed. Additionally, the Majestic Meridian Series is WiFi Compatible with the additional Intellifire App and Voice Control module (sold separately). The system includes a battery back-up that can support the fireplace for up to 72 hours (requires a USBC connector for use).

The MER42P boasts a maximum output of 45,000 BTUs* with a minimum of 23,000 BTUs. The dimensions are 48-1/16"w x 42-7/8"h x 21-7/16"d with a glass viewing area of 41-1/4"w x 26-11/16"h. The Majestic Meridian Platinum Direct Vent gas fireplace includes a 6 piece ceramic fiber log set and a built-in burner with intermittent pilot ignition. The burner is fully recessed so your fireplace will be filled with lively flames.
The Meridian Platinum MER42P leaves the design aesthetic you want to create almost entirely up to you. Your choice of interior liner panels and decorative front, while required, are for you to choose. The MER42P comes standard with a ceramic fiber split log set for a traditional look for your fire. Three traditional looking brick liners are available - Tavern Brown
(BRICKMI35TB), Cottage Red
(BRICKMI35CR), and Stacked Castle Stone
(BRICK42MPLCS). For a more contemporary look, while still using the traditional log set included with your MER42P, a 2-sided Reflective / Matte Black Glass Liner
(LINER-BK-35), is available.

Several other optional accessories are also available (separately) for your fireplace. Ruby Series gas inserts feature IntelliFire Technology, standard. WiFi compatibility can be achieved with the addition of the WiFi Module
(IFT-WFM). The module will allow you to connect your fireplace to WiFi, giving you total access from anywhere. With the IFT-WFM, you can control all the features of a remote control with an app installed on your smart device. Monitor your fire from anywhere or even control it with the sound of your voice. IntelliFire is compatible with voice assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Along with IFT, a wireless wall switch
(IFT-RC150-MAJ) is also available. The Intellifire Touch White Wireless Wall Switch features: on/off, battery strength indicator, cold climate mode.
The Meridian Platinum includes hand painted logs and a LED ember bed and backlight kit. Additionally, the Meridian Platinum Series includes the option of adding a Heat Management Kit to your fireplace.
Customize the look of your Meridian Platinum fireplace with a front and liner kit . To complete your custom look, you will need to choose an interior liner kit as well as a decorative front (with screen). Several options are available for you to complete your look.
The 4 front options are available in Black, New Bronze and Gun Metal. The colors are specific to the front you choose - not all fronts are available in all colors.

The Meridian Series offers several different options for Heat Management. Installing a heat management system with your Meridian fireplace will help to reduce the wall temperature above the fireplace. Passive Heat (PH-MR) disperses the heat, without the use of a fan, into the room several different ways. With Passive Heat, the wall temperature of the space around the fireplace is lowered, allowing you to place a TV or artwork directly above it (12"). Choose to disperse the heat out the side (PH-SIDETRIM), the front, top (PH-FRONTTRIM-42) or through an open chase (2" min. space from the top of your installation to the ceiling, required). Plus you can even add a zone kit (HEAT-ZONE-GAS) to disperse the heat into an adjacent room. Adding a heat management system must be taken into consideration when determining where and how you are installing your fireplace, as well as the type of framing required. If you have opted to use passive heat and zone heat, a heat-zone adapter (HZMR-ADP) may be required. With a Heat Management System, you decide how you want the heat to be dispersed into the room without the use of a fan. Keep in mind, air flow will be reduced from your fireplace when the fan and passive heat are in use, as air will be coming from both the appliance as well as your passive heat opening.
The Meridian Fireplace must be vented outside. It can be vented horizontally or vertically from the rear or the top. Venting is required when installing your gas fireplace. Hearth & Home Technologies DVP or SLP venting systems acceptable venting options for the Meridian Series.

Professional installation by a certified gas technician is required. This appliance is approved for use in a manufactured or mobile home.
*LP is 44,000 BTUs Max.
