Product Overview
An optional outside air kit is designed to introduce fresh, outside air to the firebox as desired. It is an important accessory in newer, more air-tight construction for an adequate supply of fresh air. Although it is not a requirement for a vent free firebox, some local building codes may require the addition of an outside air kit.
When installing an air kit such as the AK22, it must terminate at a clear, unblocked exterior location. Do not take combustion air from an inside space such as an attic or garage space.
This combustion air assembly is for use with Monessen Vent Free Fireboxes. Actual item may vary in appearance versus photo. The flex duct is NOT included. It does require a venting pipe with a 4" inner diameter. The kit does include the outside air vent termination and collar.
