Installing a firebox offers a homeowner flexible installation options. The low profile of the LCUF-36CR-GH firebox looks as if the flames (from the log set of your choosing) come almost from floor/ground level. Besides the low profile and extra large viewing area, this firebox is zero clearance and includes a black hood and standard refractory firebrick liner. Customize the look of this vent-free box with many available log sets and burners (both required) and optional trim kits and facings.
While there are no decorative pieces required for this firebox, several mantel cabinets are available (sold separately) to help customize your fireplace look.
With a vent free firebox, you are getting a 99.9% energy efficient and safe heat source. No electricity required. Because it is vent-free, it can be installed directly on a combustible floor or raised platform, on an interior or exterior wall or in an existing fireplace with a gas line. Plus it allows for zero clearance installation so it can be installed in drywall or wood.
The LCUF36CR-GH firebox can accept most 24" and 30" vent free log sets. A burner is also required (each sold separately). Double check the required firebox dimensions for any burner and log set. A great feature of a Lo-rider firebox is the low profile hearth that appears to rest on the floor. This helps to provide you with the tallest fireplace opening as well as a 36"w x 30-1/4"h viewing area.
The 36" Lo-Rider firebox offers a clean louverless face that includes a hood.

The LCUF36CR-GH will accept Monessen 24" and 30" Log Sets (sold separately). Below are the Monessen Log Set options available for this firebox. With zero clearance, the firebox can be installed flush against any surface like drywall or wood. Vent Free Natural Blaze Burners are available for use with each of these log sets:
Additionally, Monessen offers Natural Blaze burners with Natural Blaze Technology. This technology helps provide taller, more lively flames for a truly realistic fire in your vent-free firebox. Beautiful yellow flames are instantly achieved every time your burner is switched on. Available burners for the 36" firebox include:
- Millivolt Valve (NB24PV, NB24NV) - standing pilot with on/off switch and manual variable flame height control and remote ready (remote sold separately)
- Electronic Ignition with Intellifire Plus System (NB24PIF, NB24NIF) - intermittent pilot/electronic ignition, 3 step flame adjustment and Touch Screen Thermostat Remote included.
With a vent free firebox, fresh air is drawn in at the bottom of the firebox, and warmed air is expelled into the room from the top. The Monessen fireboxes feature an angled top design to help direct the warm air out for maximum efficiency.
An optional outside air kit is also available for vent free fireboxes. The AK4 introduces fresh, outside air into the firebox. An outside air kit is recommended as an accessory when installing a vent free appliance into newer, more air tight construction for an adequate supply of fresh air. Some local building codes may require an outside air kit.
