Mr. Cool is proud to announce the DIY 4TH Gen Multi-Zone Mini Split System
With a Mr. Cool DIY tri-zone mini split system, you now have a convenient, whole home solution that you can install yourself. The DIY-MULTI3-27HP230C is a DC inverter variable speed compressor giving you the efficiency you have come to expect from Mr. Cool. When connected as a 3 zone system, it offers up to 22 SEER rating for energy efficiency. The Gold Fin condenser is built to resist long term corrosion, giving you one less thing to think about even if you live near the coast. The tri-zone system allows you to connect 2 or 3 indoor units to a single outdoor compressor for comfort control in your home or even office space. A minimum of two indoor units must be connected to the Mr. Cool DIY Multi-Zone systems. The Mr. Cool DIY-MULTI3-27HP230C is a tri-zone system can take up to 3 indoor wall units, totaling 36,000 BTUs. The system's output capacity is 27,000 BTUs but the system will allow for 36,000 BTU connected capacity. Mr. Cool DIY multi-zone are also available in dual zone (DIY-MULTI2-18HP230C), quad-zone (DIY-MULTI4-36HP230C) and 5-zone (DIY-MULTI5-48HP230C) configurations.
The Mr. Cool DIY Multi-Zone systems also feature low ambient functionality. It offers 100% cooling operation down to 5°F, making the Mr. Cool DIY an ideal system for computer server rooms, greenhouses, and any other application that requires cooling all year. We do not recommend this unit as a primary heat source in northern climates.
Mr. Cool uses its own unique pre-charged Quick Connect Line Sets (NOT INCLUDED). Mr. Cool Line Sets are required for this system. A line set is required to connect each indoor unit to the outside unit. No vacuuming is needed, so therefore no HVAC installer! Line sizes are 1/4" x 1/2" for 9000, 12000 and 18000 BTU indoor units. Line sets are available in both 16' and 25' lengths. If longer lengths are required for you installation, a special coupler is also available to connect 2 or up to 3 lines together for a total of up to 75'. A Mr. Cool line set is required for each indoor unit (sold separately). 25 feet of DIYPro-Cable is included with each indoor unit and is required for the indoor and outdoor units to communicate. If you are connecting line sets, couplers include wire. The original, included Pro-Cable will need to be replaced with the single length wire. Any excess can be coiled (not cut).
The linear length of any single line-set can not exceed 75 ft. The height differential between the outdoor unit and the highest indoor unit can not exceed 49 ft. The height differential between the lowest indoor unit and the highest indoor unit can not exceed 33 ft.
For the Tri-Zone Mr. Cool DIY system, indoor wall units are available in three sizes to meet your installation needs. The wall unit models include:
- 9,000 BTUs (DIY-09-HP-WMAH-230C25)
- 12,000 BTUs (DIY-12-HP-WMAH-230C25)
- 18,000 BTUs (DIY-18-HP-WMAH-230C25)
Ceiling Cassette units are now available for the Mr. Cool Tri-Zone DIY system. For your installation needs, Ceiling Cassette units are available in three sizes for the tri zone condenser. The models include:
- 9,000 BTUs (DIYCASSETTE09HP-230C25)
- 12,000 BTUs (DIYCASSETTE12HP-230C25)
- 18,000 BTUs (DIYCASSETTE18HP-230C25)
These units can be combined in several different combinations to fulfill your room requirements. Units can be combined with a connected capacity of up to 36,000 BTUs. However, when all units are running simultaneously, the combined output will not exceed 27,000 BTUs. For example, you can connect three 12,000 BTU units for a total of 36,000 BTUs connected to your system. If all three units are running at the same time, your will only get 27,000 BTU output.
When sizing your outdoor condenser, the entire building load should be considered and then size the individual units based on the space you are trying to cool. Mr. Cool ductless mini splits heat and cool efficiently and can be programmed and controlled remotely with our Smartphone APP (Smart HVAC Module included), optional HVAC Ductless Mini-Stat, or included hand-held remote control. An example installation (below) may include a living room, an office and a bedroom! But installing a mini split system is not limited to existing rooms or where ducting is not possible - a mini split is a great option for home additions.

Product Warranty
The unit comes standard with a 5 Year Parts/7 Year Compressor Warranty and is available with a Limited Lifetime Compressor Warranty with certain conditions/requirements.
The Limited Lifetime Compressor Warranty & the 7 Year Unit Replacement Warranty covers the unit ONLY in the event of compressor failure. In order to qualify for the Limited Lifetime Compressor Warranty, the unit must be registered at the web address (https://mrcool.com/warranty/) within 60 days of the installation date AND the original, registered owner must also enroll in the MrCool Care Program within 4 months from the installation date, which has a biannual fee to be covered by the owner. The MrCool Care Program is designed to provide the owner with a Do-It-Yourself cleaning kit to service/clean the unit at regular intervals (biannually) as preventative maintenance to help ensure the unit will continue to function properly throughout its lifespan.
