This Direct Vent Wall Furnace, with 38,400 BTUs, is an excellent source of heat for large rooms across most regions. Direct Vent furnaces can be installed almost anywhere along an exterior wall, offering incredible versatility in placement. The EX38DT model features multiple venting installation options for added convenience.
Smart Comfort Control with Built-in Thermostat
The EX38DT comes with a built-in programmable thermostat, conveniently located on the top of the unit. This thermostat includes two timer settings and can be connected to a WiFi-enabled thermostat, giving you even more flexibility over your comfort control—whether you're away from home or in another room. In case of a power outage, rest assured: the furnace will safely shut off the gas and automatically restart once power is restored.
Advanced Modulating Technology for Maximum Efficiency
The EnergySaver Direct Vent Wall Furnace uses modulating technology to maximize efficiency, ensuring that it delivers just the right amount of heat. The unit continuously monitors room temperature, detecting fluctuations of less than 1°F. When a door opens and cold air rushes in, the furnace automatically adjusts fan speed and BTU output to restore the desired temperature quickly and efficiently.
Built-in Humidifier for Added Comfort
This furnace also features a 6.3-pint, enamel-coated, built-in humidifier tray located at the front of the unit for easy access. As warm air passes over the water, it is humidified, making the air you breathe more comfortable and less dry.
Installation & Clearance Requirements
To ensure proper service access, allow for 40 inches of clearance in front of the unit and 10 inches from the top and sides. The EX38DT is available in both Natural Gas and Liquid Propane options, as well as in beige or white:

Certified for Mobile Home Use & Included Accessories
The EX38DT is certified for installation in Manufactured (Mobile) Homes. It comes with the FOT-151 Termination Kit, designed for use with walls between 4-1/2" to 9-1/2" thick. If you have thicker walls, additional extensions are available, typically field-provided by the installer.

Residential Warranty:
- Limited 10 Year Warranty on Heat Exchanger
- 5 Year Warranty on Parts
- 2 Year Labor Warranty
Please note Rinnai is adjusting the language in its warranty terms and conditions currently noted in the User Installation manuals. The revised statement will read as follows: "This Limited Warranty applies only to products that are installed in the United States and Canada. Improper installation may void this Limited Warranty. It is recommended that a trained and qualified professional who has attended a Rinnai installation training class complete your installation."
