Product Overview
The Rinnai Control-R Wireless Module works in conjunction with the Rinnai Tankless Mobile App for specifically equipped tankless water heaters. The module attaches to the water heater and with a two wire interface quickly connects to your WiFi network. If your water heater is located in an area of the home where your WiFi signal is weak, the module can be wired up to 300 feet away from the water heater. The module is for indoor installation only but can be used with outdoor installed water heaters. Once connected, simply download the Rinnai app and you can control your tankless water heater through your smart phone or tablet.
Control and convenience at at your fingertips. With the app, you can register your product, adjust the temperature, as well as activate the recirculation function (if your system recirculates). Additionally, Remote Diagnostics and Monitoring Alerts provide detailed system information such as sending automatic maintenance alerts. Remote diagnostics can also be sent to your local Rinnai monitoring service provider before leaving their shop to be able to provide faster service.
If your system is set up for recirculation, the Control-R module can be paired with motion sensors or push buttons used to recirculate. The addition of these accessories allows for hot water faster. The Control-R mobile app with Smart Home technology integrates more than 20 voice commands allowing on-demand voice activation of the recirculation system and temperature control. Pairing with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings is possible only with Rinnai Tankless Water Heaters. The Control-R will only currently work with 2.4 GHz dual band router.
The Control-R app includes built-in timers and schedules for multiple on/off periods throughout the day. Of course it also offers vacation mode as well as the option to stop a scheduled recirculation event from starting.
Additional features include the ability to see your water and fuel usage as well as set a service monitoring dealer.
- Works with all Rinnai Tankless Water Heater models manufactured 2006 and newer (except RH180 Hybrid Tank-Tankless Water Heaters).
- Compatible with both residential and commercial water heaters
- The Lime Condition (LC) notification will not appear in the Rinnai App when the Control-R™ Wi-Fi Module is paired with the following series of Rinnai Tankless Water Heaters manufactured prior to 2009: VA, VB, KA and V53e.
- Attaches to side of water heater via magnetic enclosure (indoor models only) or mounts to an indoor wall with supplied mounting hardware. Directly wired and powered by the tankless water heater
- Pairs with only one Rinnai Tankless Water Heater.
- Title 24 Compliant - meets California Energy Commission’s Title 24 requirements.
